KHAR: An electrical short circuit on Wednesday reduced seven shops to ashes in Inayat Kallay Bazaar of Bajaur Agency. An official of the political administration, Abdul Hasib said that at 1am residents informed him of a fire which had erupted in the bazaar. He added that a fire brigade reached the market and started extinguishing the inferno with the help of locals. “Seven shops were destroyed before the fire was put out. However, fire fighters succeeded in saving the rest of the bazaar from burning down,” he said. Computers, telephones, cash, groceries and edible items were among the things ruined. Victims demanded the government and NGOs to provide financial assistance in setting up their businesses again, saying they have lost their only source of income.
