LAHORE: Recruitments in the new police force have been made purely on merit, said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Ring Road Police Force here on Tuesday. Sporting a Jinnah cap, the chief minister gave an example of the British police and said they were so polite even while imposing a fine for traffic violation that the violator was impressed by their good manners. He said that if the Ring Road Police Force adopted such manners, people would praise them despite being fined. Admiring the uniform of the police force, Sharif added that if the new recruits guided the public while keeping the honour of their uniform supreme, adherence to traffic rules would increase.
