LAHORE: A seven-day cleanliness drive kicked off at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Tuesday. Inspecting the arrangements, LGH and Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said citizens should be made aware that cleanliness and good hygiene were key to prevention of diseases. He said that keeping the hospital clean was the administration’s responsibility, but patients and their attendants could also help by avoiding unhygienic practices like spitting or throwing garbage on the floor. Addressing hospital staff, he said that their salaries had been increased with the grant of a conveyance allowance on the instructions of the CM. Now they must do their jobs diligently and honestly. Staff must also treat patients and their attendants with kindness and respect, he added.
