Not ready to step up to 147lbs: Khan

With so many options at 140, Khan plans to stick around a little while longer.

Amir Khan admits he may have extended his career beyond the age of 28 and for the moment has no interest to step it up to welterweight to face Sheffield rival Kell Brook, according to Boxing Scene.

In 2011, Khan was considering the possibility of moving to the welterweight division before being pegged back by a controversial loss to Lamont Peterson in December 2011 and a knockout defeat by Danny Garcia in July.

With so many options at 140, Khan plans to stick around a little while longer. “When I’m 28 I’ve always said I would retire — but we will see how my body is,” said Khan. “At the moment I feel young, fresh and hungry.”
