Prayer leader Rafiqul Khalil of Alamgir Mosque was going from Korangi to his residence in Bahudarabad in his car.
When he reached Shaheed-e-Millat Road, gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on his vehicle, killing him instantly. The driver remained unhurt.
During the initial investigation, police were caught in an argument over which police station the area falls under.
Earlier on Wednesday, most areas of Karachi remained shut a day after the attack on Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat's (ASWJ) Karachi chief claimed six lives.

This is crazy our country is burning. We need to be together and fight extremism. Does this make any difference that who is Sunni or who is Shias we are going to destroy this beautiful country we call Pakistan until we work together that all the political parties corrupt they don't care for regular person they only think about there own pocket how much Harram money they can get. They are doing divide and rule. Not very happy when hear common and poor people dying on the streets mosque or imam barghah.
