Fatal disease: Two children die of measles

LAKKI MARWAT: Two children died of measles in Bakhmal area of Lakki Marwat district on Friday, said Health Executive District Officer Dr Abdul Ghafar Wazir. He added that after reports of a measles epidemic, he sent a vaccination team to Union Council Bakhmal on December 24.  All the children were immunised but when the teams reached the houses where seven-year-old Abid Ali and five-year-old Saira Naz lived, their parents refused the vaccination. “They said they would treat their children with homemade medicines,” said the EDO, adding that on Friday morning he received news of their death.
