SUKKUR: Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira claimed on Friday that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari did not say anything against the judiciary in his December 27 speech in Garhi Khuda Bukhsh, reported Express News.

Speaking to the media at Sukkur airport, Kaira said that the PPP respects the judiciary, and a free judiciary is a sign of a strong nation.

The minister also clarified that Bilawal had not called for the arrest for his mother Benazir Bhutto’s killers, but had appealed for punishment to be given to the arrested accused.

What Bilawal said

Beginning his career in the mainstream politics, Bilawal held a speech on the fifth death anniversary of his mother in Garhi Khuda Bukhsh.

While stressing mainly on the importance of democracy in the country, Bilawal also criticised the judiciary for not providing justice in his mother's assassination.

According to Bilawal, the judiciary had all the time to monitor the prices of petty things, but did not have time to punish the arrested killers.

He said, “Many Pakistanis, like myself, are still waiting to find justice for their loved ones.”

“When you do not have time to bring the murderers of my mother to justice – who are already arrested – then where did you get the time to have a trial of her grave?” he had questioned.

As a son... his sentimental comments are worth understanding but now having a portfolio announcing his practical entry in political arsenal need to be more mature speak outs...

It is amazing that nobody is addressing what he actually said and what was wrong and insulting in that statement. Six months ago Bilawal made a more hard hitting speech and demanded the judiciary to move forward in BB's murder case. He was "noticed" by many including the SC CJ but still no progress. Yet the opponents accuse Zardari and PPP for the murder and slow pace of courts. BB was murdered and crime scene was washed promptly by high power hoses, stories were spread about banging head against sunroof etc. PPP was not in power to do all that it was Mush and his govt. Again the SC (no friend of PPP) is not taking this case just like they sat on 26 cases against Zardari and did not conclude any in two decade! The memo case, sugar, gas and oil prices, all govt appointments are more imp for the SC than murder of dozens of people.
