Botched bank robbery: Policeman killed by burglars in uniform

Policemen Muhammad Aslam, 45, and Javaid Saleem were injured as they resisted eight armed men.

KARACHI: A police constable stationed at a private bank was shot dead on Thursday by burglars. The robbers, who failed to take any money, were dressed in police uniform, said officials.

Policemen Muhammad Aslam, 45, and Javaid Saleem were injured as they resisted eight armed men inside a branch of Bank Al-Falah located along Shahrah-e-Orangi.

Aslam succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police have obtained CCTV footage from the bank and an investigation is underway.
