ISLAMABAD:

Rehabilitation and upgradation of the 43-kilometre Taxila-Khanpur-Haripur Highway has started, and its completion will boost trade and industry in the area.

With the completion of this highway, links between Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will be strengthened, which in turn will improve trade and business activities in both the provinces, an official of the National Highway Authority (NHA) said on Thursday.

He said the NHA’s National Trade Corridor Programme (NTCP) aimed to boost the economic development of the entire region.

The NTCP aims to set up an efficient, swift, and world-standard highway network so that a quality communication facility is provided to future trade traffic.
