Mortar shell attack: One killed, two injured in Bara

Khan says that a shell hit Ashraf Khan’s house in Yousaf Talab area on the outskirts of Sipah and injured his wife.

BARA: A woman was killed and two others injured when mortar shells fired from an unknown location landed on two houses in the Sipah and Akka Khel areas of Bara, Khyber Agency on Thursday. Political administration official Javaid Khan said that a shell hit Ashraf Khan’s house in Yousaf Talab area on the outskirts of Sipah and injured his wife. He said that residents of the area pulled the wounded woman out of the debris of the destroyed room and were taking her to hospital but she died on the way. In another incident, a shell landed on Shamat Khan Madakhel’s house in the Dro Adda area of Akka Khel in which his son Awais Khan and daughter-in-law were injured. The official said that they were taken to a hospital in Peshawar. On December 19, three houses were destroyed when shells fired from unknown locations landed on houses in the Shalobar area of Bara.
