Crime against children: Killer arrested, body found in freezer

The shop owner was arrested

DHONKAL: A five-year-old boy’s body was recovered from a deep freezer at a retail store in Sapal Colony in Wazirabad on Thursday. The shop owner was arrested. Police said he had confessed to killing the boy. The boy had gone missing on December 23 after he left home to buy sweets. His father Muhammad Shahid said that the child had left home at 4pm. When he did not return, he said, he looked for him. He then filed a complaint at the police station. Police said they had had arrested the shop owner, Jabir, who confessed to the crime and had led the police to the body. He told police that he had killed the boy after assaulting him and hid his body in the freezer. He said he had planned to dump it into the river later in the night, but was arrested before he could manage that.
