Speaking to media on his arrival at the airport, Nazir thanked the people of Pakistan for their appreciation and the warm welcome.
Responding to a query about being deported out of Britain, Nazir termed the news incorrect and said he has a visa and is in Pakistan only for few weeks.
“I’m here because I have to apply for visa to visit France for the song release,” he explained.
Calling his hit single a gift from God, Nazir said the song was a spontaneous creation.
Shahid moved to Britain just over a year ago with the hope of making enough money to send to his wife and four children in Pakistan.
On his first day at the fish stall, his boss told him to shout to customers to get their attention. He said he did not like shouting, and so made up a song.
Nazir signed a record deal with Warner Music after he was spotted in a YouTube video of him singing at the Queen’s Market, Upton Park, which got more than 3.6 million views.

Does anyone think that this bloke is actually talented? He can't sing that's for sure, so his only talent must be, being able to fool the authorities into thinking that he was a student.
I am glad that hes been chucked out and he should now be barred from applying for another visa of any kind to gain entry to th UK.
UK does not want illlegal immigrants who lie to us about being students, but come to work. Goodbye !
Your story reports : " Shahid moved to Britain just over a year ago with the hope of making enough money to send to his wife and four children in Pakistan. "
He was granted entry to the UK by presenting himself as a STUDENT, coming to the UK to STUDY.
If your story is correct, THAT MAKES HIM AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, who attempted to LIE to the British state.
Therefore, Goodbye and Good Riddance. We don't need more illegals in the UK. We don't need more Pakistani corruption in the UK. Parts of London are turning to Pakistan before our very eyes. That is not an improvement.
I like him because he is from my musical Lahore...kheer howe badshah zade!
We had or still have in Lahore the most musical street hawkers and beggars of the whole sub-continent.
"Loooooo jii cheelaN nuuuuN paaan walaaa ghoooooooooooooooooost" shouted one young hawker very melodic passing through our street on his bycycle with his front basket full of meat. That cheap meat was bought from women for the purpose of "Waara and later thrown to vultures!
@Sundus: No he couldn't. You can only apply for a visa from the country of your residence or when you have resident visa for the country you are applying from, student visa being one such visa. You can especially not apply from country where you are staying as a visitor.
Well planned reason. Illegal One Pound Visa :)
The point is that he is back in the country because his visa expired. Furthermore you are not allowed to switch to certain categories while in the UK. He could have applied for a French visa while in London if his visa had not expired. There is no restriction to applying for a visa as many of my friends have done it on a student visa. They also don't allow people to work as entertainers or sportscasters on a student visa.
dont be jealous of his succes. dont you guys have any life, visa or not, who cares.
did he bring any maim
Cheetah!
Please stop bashing the guy and appreciate his talent !!!!!
time to sing out loud " moosli wala bhai , moosli ley low..
Welcome Back "One Pound Fish" man. time now to sing "One Rupeee Fish Fillet" song
@Aries: Yes you can. Providing you are legally "resident" in the UK. i.e. on a student or training or work etc visa.
As a student he can work a certain number of hours per week. So there are no problems there. The problem he will face, if he was in UK as a student, is whether he was attending classes regularly. If not, then authorities can cancel his visa and chuck him out.
People of most nationalities specially those from the Third World have to go back to their home country to apply for visas for most countries.
luck never follows the reasons!!
No he can't. They often ask you to apply from your country of origin.
Was he there on student visa? His contract and work being a student might have caused problems for him.
He's lying. He could applied for a French visa from UK as long as he was a 'legal resident' of UK,
why couldn't he apply for a visa to france from UK?
