The workshop, organised by the Pakistan Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Organisation (PFBPWO), aims at training the individuals teaching in schools with limited resources to provide quality education to students.
The inspiration to hold the workshop came to Kiran Asad Javed, one of the organisers, when she happened to walk by a class where students were trying to study without anyone supervising them.
Javed, who is a lecturer at Lecole for Advanced Studies, decided then to hold a workshop to assist teachers working with underprivileged students.
The minister for media affairs, Sharmila Farooqi, and the Karachi Grammer School principal, Mr Colin Wrigley, were the chief guests at the session.
In their speeches, they spoke about raising the standards of education and making it available to everyone.
