PESHAWAR: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the Bilour House to condole with Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and Senator Ilyas Bilour over the death of their brother Bashir Ahmad Bilour.

Showing support for the Awami National Party’s stance on militancy, Shahbaz said that all political forces were a part of the war on terror and the nation’s leadership should reach a consensus to combat terrorism.

“Shaheed Bashir Bilour was a brave man and the whole country is aggrieved over the tragic death of this great leader. The vacuum created in the political atmosphere after his death will be difficult to fill.”

He added that nobody in the country is safe from the menace of terrorism and the government should revise its national policy to jointly tackle this problem.Shahbaz Sharif

Commenting on the next general elections, Shahbaz said postponing the polls was not in the interest of the country and should be held on time.

Also speaking on the occasion, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said his party had raised the issue of terrorism several times on different platforms and sought a permanent solution. “The government and law enforcement agencies should follow the resolutions passed by parliament.”

Political leaders, officials and people from all walks of life continue to visit the Bilour House to express grief over the untimely demise of Bashir Ahmad Bilour, who was killed in a suicide attack in Qissa Khawani Bazaar on Saturday.
