Security: Guards injured in firing at MNA’s car

GUJRANWALA: Two guards of an MNA were injured when the car he was travelling in was shot at by unidentified men on Monday. The car was attacked in Basiwala near Saddar police station. MNA Rana Nazir Ahmed Khan was on his way from Mokhal Sindhwa where he had gone to condole with a family whose nine members died in an accident the day before. Police said the MNA’s car was going slow due to the fog. They said some men on motorcycles stopped the car. The guards noticed that they were armed and shot at them. The men shot back, injuring guards Zulfiqar and Abdul Hayee, and fled. The car driver took the guards to Civil Hospital, where doctors treating them said they would likely survive. The MNA remained unharmed. Police were informed, who said they had started investigations.
