LONDON: Chelsea's interim manager Rafael Benitez was still scribbling notes towards the end of Chelsea's 8-0 rout of Aston Villa on Sunday after which the Spaniard said there was plenty of room for improvement.

“I can see the team improving with the little things we wanted to improve,” said Benitez. “But we can still improve some things. I say that after winning by eight. Chelsea were a top side before I came here. They still are. You can see the team has confidence in itself. The players believe, they have good movement and they create chances.”

Ferguson furious over Van Persie incident

Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson claimed Robin Van Persie could have been killed after he was hit on the back of the head with the ball  by Ashley Williams in the 1-1 draw against Swansea.

“Irrespective of him (Williams) having a yellow card, he should be banned for a long time because that was the most dangerous thing I've seen on a football field for many, many years,” said Ferguson. “However, it was a great performance in the second half. If I had a criticism, it was that the final ball let us down. But I have no criticism about the performance. It was very good.”
