CNG turmoil: Frequent shutdown of stations condemned

KARACHI:

Members of the Shabab-e-Milli, Jamaat-e-Islami condemned the shutdown of CNG stations during a demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club on Sunday.

The protesters said that long queues of vehicles outside CNG stations was a source of mental agony for the people, and claimed that the frequent shutdowns were a “conspiracy” by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority and CNG station owners.

Vehicles have been lining up outside stations in fear of their unexpected closure, they said.

They requested the Supreme Court to address the problem. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Muhammad Hussain Mahenti and Hafizul Haq Hasanzai from the Rickshaw Taxi Association also attended the demonstration.
