LAHORE: The temperature dropped by five degrees in the city on Sunday, causing heavy fog and travel delays. The minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum at 17.2 degrees, while there was a low of 4 degrees and a high of 22 degrees on Saturday. Visibility had fallen to as low as 70 metres in the evening and was expected to drop even further later at night. Motorway officials advised people to postpone any travel plans. Lahore Airport was closed due to the fog. The cold weather appeared to convince many people to remain indoors, with fewer vehicles seen on the roads. However, restaurants, particularly those serving fried food, did brisk business.
