Case registered: Father of murdered bride seeks justice

The incident took place over a marital dispute.

SUKKUR: Ghotki police registered an FIR yesterday against nine members of the Solangi clan on charges of killing two women, and injuring two others in Atul Muradani village on Friday. The FIR was filed by Muhammad Hassan Solangi, the father of Rabia Solangi, who was shot dead. Rabia’s aunt, Zuhra Khatoon Solangi, was also killed. The incident took place over a marital dispute. Rabia Solangi was married on Thursday to a man named Sahib Khan Mahar who did not belong to the Solangi clan. Members of the clan had been against the marriage. On Friday, armed men raided Solangi’s house. The nine people named in the FIR include Mohammad Yousuf, Asif Ali and Ghulam Akbar. No arrests had been made by the time this report was filed.
