Medical treatment: Poison control centre established

Around 90% of patients shifted to hospital after taking poisonous pills died due to lack of a poison-control setup.

FAISALABAD: The Allied Hospital has established a poison control centre to treat victims of poisoning and dog and snake bites. Medical Superintendent Dr Rashid Maqbool said on Saturday that 90 per cent of the patients shifted to the hospital after taking poisonous pills died due to lack of a poison-control setup. He said now the 6-bed poison control centre had been established and an ample stock of medicines was available there.
