Style Icon: Maheen Khan
With almost 40 years in the fashion industry, fashion doyenne Maheen Khan is famed for her timeless elegance. The brains behind The House of Maheen and Gulabo has showcased her collection at countless fashion shows. She was even termed “the Coco Chanel of the East” at Milan Fashion Week for her art inspired by Khyber region.
However, Maheen is not just a fashion designer but a style icon in the true sense. She prefers somber colours and wears them with effortless grace. She is never seen sporting over the top dresses, and prefers minimalistic fashion. Her short, peppered hair flatters her beautiful face, and she isn’t afraid to throw on some funky specs or a signature red lipstick.
In her own words, her clothes exude confidence, style and elegance. “I loved clothes as a little girl. I loved clothes to the extent that I made it a point to dress differently from everybody else,” Maheen told The Express Tribune.
Maheen has won many awards namely Lux Style Awards, Style Icon award and ‘Benazir Women Excellence’ for Best Women Wear Designer.
