Punjab Governor Latif Khosa resigns

KARACHI: Governor Punjab Latif Khosa on Saturday handed over his resignation to President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House in Karachi, Express News reported.

Khosa, speaking to reporters at the Karachi airport, said that the party was important for him and not the post. He said that he would accept the leadership’s decision.

The governor handed over his resignation to the president in a meeting at the Bilawal House, which he accepted, sources said.

Earlier, the PPP nominated Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood, a Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MPA hailing from Rahim Yar Khan, as the new governor of Punjab.

The catch here was that Mehmood will have to withdraw his long-standing stance of the restoration of Bahawalpur province in exchange for the post.

Khosa resigned before he was helped out with khoosas. He was like friggin Alice in Wonderland, living in a mansion that was too big for him to fully explore. I hope Zardari is also led out of power with many Zardis and welcomed into jail with heavy hathkaris.
