Khosa, speaking to reporters at the Karachi airport, said that the party was important for him and not the post. He said that he would accept the leadership’s decision.
The governor handed over his resignation to the president in a meeting at the Bilawal House, which he accepted, sources said.
Earlier, the PPP nominated Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood, a Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MPA hailing from Rahim Yar Khan, as the new governor of Punjab.
The catch here was that Mehmood will have to withdraw his long-standing stance of the restoration of Bahawalpur province in exchange for the post.

Heading shd be: Khosa asked to resign for power politicis
Khosa resigned before he was helped out with khoosas. He was like friggin Alice in Wonderland, living in a mansion that was too big for him to fully explore. I hope Zardari is also led out of power with many Zardis and welcomed into jail with heavy hathkaris.
@Chengez K: This amendment has no seed of destruction but real destruction is mindset like urs who believe centralization and poor autonomy to provinces, Pls learn from past, East Pakistan become Bangladesh due to lack of autonomy, same is case with Baluchistan and Sindh. Pakistan is federation of four provinces, for strong and prosperous Pakistan, each unit should enjoy full autonomy and authority in their respective provinces.
Thank God, he is gone. Saraikis like him are curse to Saraiki nation. They never do anything when they are in power. He even did not issue monetary grant to establish a school or hospital in D G Khan. Same will be done be upcoming governor. SHame on all of them.
@ZZQ:
3 to 4 months of governorship? Governors will stay on for at least till the President is there. Three months are left for assemblies, the governor stays on!
And i was wondering is there any pride left in these politicians??? Why for just 3-4 months of Governorship would one betray his affiliations and political ideals (if there is anything as such)...???
But then maybe its a big enough time to exploit fullest in a poor country like ours... consider how the new PM has exhausted his discretionary fund and is seeking another 10 billions within this short time and how his relatives are being promoted from grade 18 to 21 ... its worth for these conscience sellers...
Sadly in Pakistan, we can find many willing to sell their souls and honor for petty benefits!
Belongs in the dust bin of history. Fifteen minute of fame is over , good bye khosa.
'Bandar Bant' ' continues.....!!! Typical Pakistani politics. No solution to any problems , just consolidate your authority. Shame has lost its meanings in face of Pakistani politics especially PPP politics.
And thank God that he was the only casualty of the end of the Mayan calendar
Bye bye iYou did nothing much for the province k
He could take on the Corleone family single handed.
"The catch here was that Mehmood will have to withdraw his long-standing stance of the restoration of Bahawalpur province in exchange for the post" So each has a price which differs with personalities.
No to Mayawati style governors !!!
We need a governor representing Federation of Pakistan , as per constitution , not someone playing caste and language politics.
These pawns are expendables and can be sacrificed anytime for the greater cause i.e. power. Bye bye Khosa.......you were in line with babar awan, faisal raza abdi, zulfiqar mirza, Gilani etc...........lets see who will be the next........and when............may be........Abdul Rehman Malik.......oh sorry Dr.........
Poor Governor Khosa paid the price when he in his innocence attacked the 18th amendment....ANP immediately reacted because it knows as do many others that this amendment has seeds of destruction of Pakistan!!!
