The decision was taken in a meeting with PPP’s Provincial President Anwar Safiullah Khan at Sultana’s residence, where scores of other PML-N party workers also joined the PPP.
Sultana said she took the decision because the PML-N was ignoring the rights of the people in her area. She added that after becoming the next chief minister of K-P, Saifullah would initiate projects for the development of the province’s southern districts.
“I will go to any lengths in the struggle to develop and fight for peoples rights,” she said.
Sultana’s brother Jehanzab Khattak also announced his decision to join the PPP. He said the two had been a part of PML-N since 1981 and while he was happy with his position in the PML-N, Khattak said his loyalties now lay with PPP and Saifullah. “He (Saifullah) is our true leader, capable of working for the welfare of the people.”
Khattak added that they will contest the provincial assembly elections from Karak district.
