Karachi voters' list: Door-to-door verification to begin from Jan 5

The process of door-to-door verification of Karachi‘s deeply contentious voters’ lists will begin from January 5, Express News reported on Friday.
The process is expected to take 69 days to be completed.
This tedious method of verifying the voters’ list was suggested by the Supreme Court during a hearing of a related case.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had earlier called this exercise “unworkable”. However, the commission agreed to do so with the help of the Army.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim had said that the SC order on verification of voters lists will be implemented in letter and spirit.
