Airblue crash: Hearing adjourned due to counsel’s absence
The Hearing of the Airblue crash at the Peshawar High Court (PHC) was adjourned due to absence of the airline’s senior counsel Waseem Sajjad.
The case was heard before PHC Chief Justice (CJ) Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth but was adjourned upon Sajjad’s request, who said that he was scheduled to appear before the apex court.
Umer Farooq Adam, counsel for petitioner Marvi Memon, who is the member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, requested the court continue with the hearing, since Airblue’s other senior counsel Abdul Latif Yousafzai was present in the court. The bench, however, turned down his request.
During the last hearing on November 14, the court had issued notices to Civil Aviation Authority’s director general and chairman of Pakistan International Airlines to reply as to why the inquiry into the aviation accident was not conducted independently.
