ANF operation: A big cache of heroin, chemical seized

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Rawalpindi seized huge quantity of heroin from different consignments at Benazir Bhutto Airport on Thursday.


The ANF officials on a tip-off intercepted different consignments booked for Britain. During search of the consignments, the ANF officials seized 5.8kg of fine quality heroin, worth millions of rupees. The heroin was concealed in different items such as marble pieces, spoons, knives, machinery parts and wooden boxes, an official press release of the force said.

Cases against the consignees have been registered by ANF and investigation is in progress. Name of the suspects are being kept secret for further arrests in the case.

The ANF officials separately seized 75 litres of acetic anhydride (a chemical used in heroin) in Attock and arrested Tariq Ahmed, resident of Mardan.
