Urdu teachers

Letter December 20, 2012
Urdu teachers tends to be low on average, compared with teachers who teach other subjects.

KARACHI: Through your newspaper, I would like to inform your readers that Urdu teachers are often mistreated by private schools. This is a neglected issue, not least because, in my view, the parents of students do not seem all that bothered about the standard of Urdu that is taught to their children. As for school managements, they seem to think that just about anyone can teach Urdu and hence, the pay for Urdu teachers tends to be low on average, compared with teachers who teach other subjects.
