Emphasis on education: Politician call for increase in budget

Dr Shehla Raza stresses the need for collaboration between executive and political representatives.

ISLAMABAD: The representatives of all political parties on Tuesday unanimously agreed to increase the education budget to 5-7% of GDP over the next five years and introduce uniform education system across the country.

The representatives also agreed to increase the number of teachers for improving the  education system as one of key agendas during and after the general elections.

The roundtable discussion was organised by Pakistan Coalition for Education and Oxfam G-B. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Dr Shehla Raza, stressed the need for collaboration between executive and political representatives to deal with issues related to education.
