Power woes: Tribesmen protest against power outage

MIRANSHAH: Tribesmen in North Waziristan Agency protested against unannounced, prolonged power outages in front of Miranshah Press Club on Tuesday. The protesters were led by tribal elder Khalilur Rehman and chanted slogans against Wapda and government officials, saying that they are distraught due to the extended power outages in the agency. Addressing the protesters, Rahman said that they were facing severe water shortages, adding that they don’t have water available for drinking, “ even if Wapda  provide us electricity for two or three hours a day, it is on low voltage,” Rahman said, adding that their businesses and routine life have been disturbed due to the power cuts.
