A total of 32 government primary schools under the Elementary and Secondary Education department’s Pharhala circle have been attached to the Haripur circle, according to a notification issued by the department on Monday.
Faqeer Shah, a senior official of the department said since the Pharhala circle was monitoring a total of 174 primary schools, it was becoming difficult for one official to ensure proper supervision pertaining to efficiency of the teaching staff and their attendance, as well as new admissions and student dropout.
He said the decision to detach 32 schools from the circle was taken to improve the quality of supervision and schooling in the schools under the Pharhala circle.
He said the Haripur circle, headed by Dr Abdul Samad Khan, previously had 76 government boys’ primary schools under its control.
