QUETTA: The Khuzdar Press Club re-opened on Sunday after being closed for almost three months in protest against the killings of journalists in the region.

Journalists resumed duties after long negotiations with the Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Abdul Saboor Kakar. Kakar said that the closure of the Press Club had created a gap between the people and the media.

On the occasion, the journalists also vowed to continue their work for the welfare of the society. It may be mentioned that the Press Club was closed for an indefinite period following the killings of ARY News correspondent Abdul Haq Baloch.

Meanwhile, the Panjgur Press Club which was closed after the killing of the journalist Rehmatullah Abid last month still remained closed. However, according to Pangjur Press Club Vice President Qadir Bakhsh Sanjarani the press club was to open soon.
