Firing incident: College principal escapes attempt on life

Unidentified men on the Eastern Bypass Road targeted Mir’s car soon after he left the premises of the college.

Renowned educationist and principal of the Tameer-e-Nau Residential College Fazal-e-Haq Mir escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday.


Unidentified men on the Eastern Bypass Road on Sunday targeted Mir’s car soon after he left the premises of the college. However, according to the police Mir escaped the attack as the driver managed to drive back to the college.

Though the firing left a vendor identified as Mohammad Nabi injured, who was later taken to a nearby hospital. Law enforcement agencies reached the site and began a search operation for the assailants. None of the extremist groups claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani condemned the assassination attempt and stressed that the law enforcement agencies should get hold of the culprits as soon as possible.
