HYDERABAD: The wife of a political leader was shot dead inside her home in Kotri, Jamshoro on Sunday.

Unidentified attackers entered the house of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s district president Nisar Chandio and shot dead his 38-year-old wife Bilqees Chandio, according to Kotri DSP Ghulam Sarwar.

“She was shot point blank. Only a single spent bullet was found from the house,” he said. Chandio has termed it a political murder. “This is the second attack at my house in the past eight months. I believe I was their target,” he added. He did not, however, name anyone as a suspect.

The PML-N leader, a lawyer by profession, was in Punjab when the murder took place. His wife was alone with their two children at their Telegraph colony residence. The SSP Jamshoro said her post-mortem will be carried out after Chandio returns from Punjab.
