Bilawal’s debut: ‘Historic gathering to be held at Garhi Khuda Bux this Dec 27’

Qaim Ali Shah says ‘anti-PPP forces’ are still hatching conspiracies.

SUKKUR: The Pakistan Peoples Party’s public gathering in Garhi Khuda Bux this December 27 will go down in history as the occasion when Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will launch his political career, said Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah. He was addressing party workers at the residence of federal minister for religious affairs Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Sunday.

Talking politics, the chief minister said that “anti-PPP forces” were hatching conspiracies against his party, just like they did when Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and then his daughter, Benazir Bhutto, were in power. Taking a swipe at the Pir Pagara-led Pakistan Muslim League-Functional’s massive public gathering in Hyderabad on Friday, Shah said that “their activists could not even chant slogans properly.”

The PPP leader also lashed out at opposition and Sindhi nationalist parties for “raising hollow objections” against the new local government law. Without naming the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the chief minister said that the party was funneling money to the nationalists to stir them up against the PPP, and also accused it of reviving the Kalabagh Dam project.

When asked to comment on former president Pervez Musharraf’s claim that the people in Sindh are unaware of their rights, Shah said that the reverse is true, and that is why the people vote the PPP into power.
