The snow-covered hills were alive with the sound of thrilled tourists in Malam Jabba, Swat, on Saturday.
Tourists from across the country drove up to the hill station, known for its ski resort, to enjoy the snow on the weekend.
Student Abubakr, who was on a recreational trip along with his college fellows, told The Express Tribune, “We had been planning this trip since long. And it’s like a dream come true.”
“There is more snow than we expected,” he added, as he and his friends indulged in a snow-ball fight.
Zahid Sadiq, a tourist from Lahore, also spoke of the “breathtaking beauty” of the snow-covered peaks. “I have never seen snow like this. I had dreamt of it and today it has come true.”
“People should enjoy and explore the beauty of Pakistan instead of going abroad,” he added.
Zareena and Shazia, two young girls from Multan on vacation with their family, were especially excited: “We really don’t want to go back. The weather is very good and we have never experienced such serenity and peace,” they said, urging people to visit the “paradise-like valley”.

Make the most of it and do NOT chop down those trees and hunt the wildlife and leave any litter behind. The are all protected species, protected by international law. Global warming is already here. Wrap up well by wearing thin layers of clothes and go for long walks.
