The protesters carried placards and chanted slogans against the government for its failure to curb incidents of sectarian killings. Vice Chairman of HDP Mirza Hussain Hazara was among those who addressed the protesters.
The speakers said their ancestors had sacrificed a lot for the land Hazaras occupy today and would not leave their homes to appease those who spread sectarian hatred. They also said that more than 800 people from the community have been slain so far in targeted shootings and bomb blasts.
The speakers accused the government and law enforcement agencies of remaining silent about the atrocities endured by the Hazara community on a daily basis.
