Progress in the Federal Administrative Tribal Areas (Fata) is not possible without stability in the region, according Intellectual Property Rights (IPO) Pakistan Chairman Hameedullah Jan Afridi. “But we are determined to bring peace in the tribal belt,” he said while addressing a “peace walk” organised by the Khyber Student Union in Islamabad on Friday. The walk was held to call for an end to military operations in the tribal belt. Afridi was of the view that if the authority was given to the parliamentarians, they can guarantee restoration of peace in the troubled tribal areas. Former Khyber Union President Bazar Gul and Khyber Student Union Chairman Murad Saqi also addressed participants.
