FIR quashed: Court to hear doctors’ case on Jan 10

Additional District and Sessions Judge Nisar Ahmed on Friday set January 10 for the next hearing on murder charges against doctors for allegedly removing the drip attached to an infant leading to his death. In the last hearing, the judge directed the counsel for the accused doctors to submit a copy of the Lahore High Court (LHC) order which directed police to quash the FIR against the doctors. The doctors had earlier withdrawn their bail applications from the court. A copy of the LHC order was produced on Friday upon which the judge fixed January 10 for further proceedings. The FIR was registered by Muhammad Afzal in Gawalmandi Police Station under Sections 302, 427, 148, 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code against Dr Usman, Dr Sulaiman, Dr Adil, Dr Assad, Dr Hannan, Dr Usmanul Haq and Dr Tajamal for removing the drip of his one-and-a-half-year son Fahad which led to his death.
