Close call: Woman escapes kidnap attempt
A case had been registered at the Cantt police station.
BAHAWALPUR:
A woman escaped a kidnap attempt by attracting the attention of traffic police by shouting from the car she was being taken in on Friday. Police said Zainab Bibi, a resident of Bahawalnagar, had come for a hearing at the high court. Soon after she left the court, four men pushed her into a car. When the car stopped at a traffic signal, she started shouting for help, attracting attention of some traffic wardens nearby. They stopped the car and recovered the woman. They arrested one of the men, Muhammad Basheer, while the rest fled. They were identified as Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Naeem and Muhammad Akmal. A case had been registered at the Cantt police station.
