Pakistan had won nine matches in a row and withstood the breakfast table mishap when captain Zeeshan Abbasi accidentally drank phenyl. On the field, however, India performed better on the day to avenge their eight-wicket loss in an earlier round matches with the 29-run win yesterday.
Put into bat, India romped to 258 for eight off their quota. Ketan Bhai’s 98 laid the foundations for that competitive total as he was aided by Prakash Jayaramaiah (42) and Ajay Kumar Reddy (25). For the tourists, Mohammad Saleem, Mohammad Akram and Idrees Saleem took two wickets each.
In reply, Pakistan were expected to chase down the target but fell short despite Mohammad Jameel’s 47, Ali Murtaza’s 38 and Akram’s 32. Pakistan could only manage 229 for eight off their quota and had to settle for second place.

@Lala Gee: The tornament was for the physically blind but you are blind with hatred.
Pakistanis were afraid that they would be washed with phenyl for their sins.
Lala Gee : Seeing conspiracies everywhere, fear syndrome that the world is out to get Pakistan etc etc has landed pak in serious trouble already. Learn to see the world and neighbours in better light, please. The first step for a cure.
@Yoghurt lover: Excuse is better than serving it first hand.
I am not at all interested in who won or who was defeated ? I am only concerned why Pak team is allowed in India?
Agree with many commentators here. Pakistan team got frightened by phenyl incident and gave up the match. For some reason Pakistanis are easily scared of Indians and surrender without a fight to Indians.
Congratulations Pakistan! You have played very well. We Indians are proud of you. We are happy that India won the match and you guys won our hearts . Hats off!
@Lala Gee: The whole world know how low pakistanis can get. The truth is your blind team also can't handle the pressure of knockout match against india
Congratulations Pakistan! You have played very well. We Indians are proud of you. We are happy that Indai won the match and you guys won our hearts . Hats off!
Loving the indian bashing...lol
Pakistani team took the message, delivered through captain on breakfast table, seriously, and chose their life over wining a match. Only Indians can touch that low. Perhaps that's why they are called Indians.
Win was imminent if the captain was not poisoned a few days ago. May be they threatened the whole team if won.
Perhaps a good result for green shirts keeping in mind what happened after defeating blues in group match.
The blind have shown the way! Bravo!
Especially afetr beating some teams by more than 200 runs in a t20. I am sure I alone would not lose by that much to t20 champs.
I am pretty sure that half the side on both sides were nowhere close to blind! that's the level of trust we have in this region.
