Heinous crime: ‘Child rapist, murderer’ arrested

GUJRANWALA: The alleged rapist and murderer of a three-year-old girl was arrested here on Thursday. Police said the girl had been abducted by a neighbour on December 9. They said the accused first raped and then strangled the girl. He left her body behind a local school and fled. On Thursday, the police raided the accused’s house on receiving information that he was present there and arrested him. During interrogations, he said he, in connivance with two other men had planned to kidnap the girl for ransom. He said he succeeded in kidnapping the girl, but feared he would be caught, so he killed the girl and threw her body at a deserted place. Talking to the media, the girl’s mother Samina demanded that the kidnappers be hanged publicly.
