Four armed men looted a jewellery shop in the cantonment area Early on Wednesday night and took away over Rs10 million worth of cash, diamonds and precious metal.
According to available details, four men arrived at Elahi and Sons Jewellers at 3:30 and quickly disarmed the lone security guard. Later, the robbers broke the locks to enter the shop and lifted lockers containing Rs 1.4 million cash, 1.5 kg gold, diamonds worth Rs1 million, and 27 kg of silver.
Aftab Ahmed, the shop owner, lodged a complaint with Naseerabad Police about the robbery.
However, when Naseerabad Station House Officer (SHO) Chaudhry Tariq was contacted, he was completely unaware of the robbery investigation and directed The Express Tribune to contact the investigation office for further details.
“Four to five robbers stormed into Elahi and Sons Jewellers, tied up security guard Allah Rakha with a rope and looted cash and valuables,” said investigation officer Sub Inspector Aslam Akram, adding that the owner had not yet provided the police with details of the stolen items.
He said the police have taken CCTV footage as part of the investigation, and that a case has been filed with no arrest made so far, he added.
Separately, two unknown robbers snatched Rs3.1 million from a prize bond dealer on Tuesday night after shooting him in the leg at Soan Bus Terminal in Morgah, the police said.
After committing the crime, the robbers managed to escape from the scene.
The injured man, Waqas Hanif from Chakwal, was shifted to District Headquarter Hospital by the rescuers and police for medical treatment.
According to Morgah SHO Abdul Sattar Khan, Waqas came from Chakwal to Mall Plaza, Saddar to exchange currency worth Rs3.1 million and was looted at Soan Bus Terminal, where he was waiting for a wagon to go back to Chakwal.

Two incidents,I think the authorities should look if they are somewhat related. If those two incidents have similarities and then track them down!
