Pak-US relations: US ambassador calls on CM

CM tells ambassador about performance and achievements of Sindh government over the last four and a half years.

KARACHI: The US Ambassador to Pakistan, Richard Olson, called on Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House on Tuesday. Shah told Olson about the performance and achievements of the provincial government over the last four and a half years and gave a briefing on the initiatives being carried out in the health and education sectors and towards women and youth development.  Olson thanked Shah for his hospitality and said that the relations between Pakistan and the US had improved, adding that a hospital project had been completed at Jacobabad and that a new health programme has been initiated at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi.  Later, the CM presented Olson with traditional gifts of Ajrak, a Sindhi cap and also presented him a CM House shield. Olson was accompanied by Karachi US Consul-General Michael Dodman, staff assistant Tom Niblock and political officer Keish Tom. The CM’s principal secretary, Muhammad Siddique Memon, was also present.
