ISLAMABAD:

Six more houses being used for commercial purposes were sealed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday. The houses were found in violation of CDA’s building bylaws.

The civic agency had earlier sealed six houses on December 6 in sectors F-6 and F-7.

This time all the six houses were located in sector F-6/1. During the operation, which involved CDA’s enforcement staff and building control magistrate, the following buildings were sealed: House 49, Street 32; House 39, Street 32; House 4, Street 4; House 20, 7th Avenue; House 41, Street 38; and House 15, School Road.

Two of the houses were being used as boutiques. One was an art gallery, while a furniture shop had been opened in another. The final two houses were being used as a gym and an office respectively.

CDA spokesperson Ramzan Sajid said, “We will continue to stop the nonconforming use of houses.”
