Power theft: FESCO finds more than 4,400 cases

FESCO spokesperson says that these units had stolen power worth Rs29.3 million.

Power theft: FESCO finds more than 4,400 cases

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) teams have detected more than 4,400 power thefts in the region, Fesco spokesman Tahir Sheikh said on Monday. He said that Fesco teams had checked 173,000 electricity meters in all. He said of these, 3,588 domestic, 305 commercial, 235 industrial and 285 tube well consumers were found to be involved in power theft. He said these units had stolen power worth Rs29.3 million. He said cases had been registered against 400 consumers. The spokesman said that the drive against power pilferers would continue.
