QUETTA:

Services rendered by the provincial government during the current tenure are unparalleled and the people have great confidence in it, said members of the Balochistan cabinet during a meeting on Monday.

Chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani, the meeting said that via the provincial leadership, many jobs had been provided to people in Balochistan while the province had been placed on an unprecedented road to development.

If our past record is deemed ‘criminal’, then we would love to repeat it, they said.

The masses reserve the right to judge, they said. “If performance has not been up to the province’s expectations, the people will not reelect us.” Evaluation should hence be left to the people, they added.

The meeting emphasised that the coalition government was made up of parties which were genuinely committed to the welfare of Balochistan.

Potshot at NAB

Members of the Balochistan cabinet also criticised allegations of corruption levelled against Balochistan government by National Accountability Bureau, questioning NAB’s purpose behind levelling ‘unfounded’ allegations of corruption against the Balochistan government.

The cabinet questioned if NAB is only limited to carrying out inquiries in Balochistan and whether public representatives in other provinces angel-like?
