Cough syrup deaths: Lab report submitted to CMIT

Report states the victims were also users of various recreational drugs.

LAHORE: The Punjab Forensic Science Agency has submitted a report to the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team of its analysis of the stomach contents of 17 people who died after consuming large amounts of Tyno cough syrup, sources told The Express Tribune. The sources said that the agency had determined that an overdose of the syrup caused the deaths, but wasn’t the only factor. The report stated the victims were also users of various recreational drugs. They said more tests were being conducted. A Health Department spokesman said that they had not received the report.
