KARACHI:

Army strengthened their position at the top of the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) after Ansar Abbass’ 89th-minute winner helped them defeat Baloch FC 1-0 in Noushki.

“We played well and the matches in Noushki and Chaman were important for us,” Army coach Shafqat Mehmood told The Express Tribune.

With the win, Army replaced KRL at the top with 51 points from 24 matches. KRL, meanwhile, opted to postpone their matches as three of their players were playing for the national under-23 team in Sri Lanka. Elsewhere, PAF beat HBL 1-0, thanks to Mohammad Asif’s goal. PAF remained in fourth with 46 points after 23 matches while HBL remained 14th with 18 points.
