Anti corruption week: ‘Police Dept most corrupt’

District police officers deployed throughout the Punjab are honest, says DG Anti Corruption.

BAHAWALPUR: “The Anti Corruption Department is taking action against corrupt officials,” Anti Corruption Director General Sheikh Abid said on Sunday. He was talking to reporters regarding the anti corruption week celebrated by the Punjab government that ended on Sunday. Abid said that the Police Department has the most cases of corruption. He said 42,238 police officials from assistant sub inspectors to deputy superintendents of police had been punished for corruption and negligence this year up to October. He said that an internal accountability cell comprising 350 officials had been established by the Anti Corruption Department. He said that district police officers deployed throughout the Punjab were honest.
