We will oppose parliament's move to protect dual nationals: Fazlur Rehman

Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday that his party has resolved not to support any move by the parliament to provide protection to dual nationals, Express News reported.

“We will not support any move that aims to protect membership of parliamentarians on the basis of dual nationality,” he told media.

He added that his party will not support any decision to delay the elections.

LHC verdict on Kalabagh will create problems

The JUI-F chief said that the Lahore High Court's decision on Kalabagh and the wording of the verdict does not look implementable.

“Apart from that, this [verdict] will create problems between provinces since resolutions of three provinces against the dam are still in place,” he said.

Maulana Fazl Ur Rehman should checkout the Afghan Nationality of his Senator from Balochistan. He knows it to which I am referring.

Mulana is right when he says that LHC decision will create problems despite opposing by three provinces. Decision of such kind is over stepping of an institution limits and giving an impression to continue with popularity which is depleting very rapidly. I don't think decision of other three High Courts in Sindh, Baluchistan and KPK will be the same. People want justice not political decisions that create disputes. It may be popular decision in Punjab but not in the other three provinces. If it is the domain of court then it should be taken up by other courts and Supreme court of Pakistan.
